Arriving in a new colourway for spring, this edition of the Nike Daybreak Shoes has midnight turquoise coloured suede uppers with seaweed tone overlays and dark smoke grey accents. Around the front of the toes, a suede overlay provides additional protection in a high wear area whilst the fastening above has been coloured to suit the rest of the design with a suede border and laces that help to keep the foot in place above a lightly padded curved tongue. Around the top edge of the tongue a large woven label shows the Nike Swoosh tick logo which has also been printed onto the insole. On either side of the foot suede Swoosh ticks have been cut from textural suede and continue around the back of the heel where capitalised ‘Nike’ lettering has been embroidered in yellow. The ankle border is cushioned for comfort and the outsole features a foam insert above a rubber tread that continues up the front of the toes and back of the heel to deliver a high level of grip through the iconic ‘waffle’ pattern.

Making history in 1984 at the first women’s Olympic marathon, the Nike Daybreak was given to American runner Joan Benoit Samuelson and supported her in winning first place - which was also a world record. Recognised through a ‘waffle’ tread outsole that continues up the front and back of the shoe, the Daybreak was reintroduced in late 2019 following a surge of demand in retro style footwear.
